1. Duties and Responsibilities of the Sawmill Machine Operator

The wood sawing and processing machine operator is responsible for the following industrial and forestry tasks:

• Operating and monitoring automated sawmill equipment and machinery from control panels or operator platforms, in order to cut round wood blocks and convert them into rough-cut lumber;
• Sawing, splitting, trimming, and squaring raw wood and blocks to various dimensions and measurements;
• Operating feed and collection belts and conveyors for sawing machines;
• Setting up, adjusting, and calibrating sawing equipment, and replacing blades or cutting bands using wrenches and hand tools;
• Operating machines and equipment designed to sort and stack lumber by length and thickness, and transporting it to warehouses or drying kilns;
• Monitoring the movement of lumber and tracking computer screens to ensure wood is cut according to required specifications, and printing production reports;
• Continuously cleaning, oiling, and lubricating sawmill equipment and machinery to maintain work efficiency.

2. Required Candidate Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be registered with ANAPEC as a job seeker;
• Education level: High school diploma / Baccalaureate (mandatory);
• Professional experience: Proven and documented professional experience of at least one (1) year in a similar position within a large industrial company during the last five years;
• Languages: Good level of French (minimum level B1);
• Good and full physical capability to endure the demands and challenging tasks of sawmill work;
• Gender: Male.

3. Working Conditions and Benefits

• Contract type: Permanent, open-ended employment contract (CDI);
• Gross monthly salary: Ranges between $20.99 and $21.47 CAD per hour (approximately $3,358 CAD per month before tax deductions);
• Weekly working hours: Between 40 and 45 hours per week;
• Flight ticket: Airfare from Morocco to Canada is fully insured and paid, covered by the Canadian employer (Flight ticket: Yes);
